Terms of Use

Last updated: July 14, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Aurora ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. Aurora is operated by a numbered Ontario corporation ("we," "us," or "our"). If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account and use Aurora. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Aurora to:

  • Upload or share content that is illegal, hateful, sexually explicit, violent, or infringes on someone else's intellectual property
  • Harass, impersonate, or harm any other person
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to Aurora's systems or other users' accounts
  • Use Aurora for any commercial purpose without our written permission

Images and content collected from Aurora's Explore feature are intended for personal use only and may not be sold or used commercially.

5. Your Content

You retain full ownership of any images, text, and boards you create or upload to Aurora. By choosing to make a board public, you grant Aurora a limited license to display that board and its contents on the Explore page, generate preview thumbnails, and allow other users to view it. You can make a board private at any time, which removes it from Explore.

5a. Branded Watermark on Shared Previews

When you share a board publicly or download a board image to share on social media, Aurora automatically adds a small "Created with Aurora" watermark to the preview image. This watermark identifies Aurora as the source of the preview when your board is reshared on third-party platforms. The watermark only appears on the generated preview image and on downloaded share images — it is never added to the live board you see and edit inside Aurora, and your original uploaded images are never altered. Aurora may update the appearance of the watermark over time, and previously generated preview images may be silently regenerated with the current watermark the next time you open the board.

5b. Public Boards — User-to-User License for Saved Images

License grant. When you make a board public on Aurora, you grant every other Aurora user a limited, non-exclusive, revocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to view your public board and to save copies of the individual images on that board to their own personal Aurora library for their own personal, non-commercial inspiration. This license does not transfer ownership: you retain all rights in your original content, and Aurora retains attribution — every saved copy is stamped with your username as its source in the saver's library, and that attribution is displayed inside Aurora. Making the board private later revokes the license going forward but does not obligate other users to delete copies they saved while the board was public; the license granted at save time survives for that saver's personal library only.

Warranty on public boards. By making a board public, you represent and warrant that you own or otherwise have all rights necessary to display and license the images on that board for the personal use of other Aurora users as described above, and that doing so does not infringe the copyright, trademark, publicity, privacy, or other rights of any third party. Do not make boards public if you do not have those rights — for example, do not publish images scraped from other sites, purchased stock photos whose license forbids redistribution, or another person's identifiable likeness without their permission.

Indemnity carve-out. You agree to indemnify and hold Aurora, its operator, employees, and affiliates harmless from any claim, demand, loss, or damages (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of a third party's assertion that images you made available on a public board infringe their intellectual-property or other rights. This carve-out applies only to content you chose to publish publicly and does not extend to Aurora's own conduct or to private boards you kept to yourself.

Saver obligations. When you save an image from another user's public board to your personal library, you agree that: (i) the saved copy is for your own personal, non-commercial inspiration only; (ii) you will not resell, redistribute, sublicense, or publish the image outside Aurora, and you will not remove or obscure attribution when the image is displayed inside Aurora; (iii) you are responsible for confirming you have the right to any additional use before taking the image outside Aurora, since the original uploader's warranty above runs to Aurora and to their own good-faith understanding, not to your downstream use; and (iv) if the original uploader takes their board private, deletes an image, or notifies you that they lack the rights they represented, you will delete the saved copy from your library on request.

6. AI-Generated Images

Aurora offers a feature that generates images using artificial intelligence based on text descriptions you provide. You are responsible for the prompts you submit and how you use the resulting images. AI-generated content is provided "as is," and Aurora makes no guarantees about the accuracy, originality, or suitability of generated images.

7. Public Boards and Reporting

Boards marked public are visible to other Aurora users on the Explore page. If you believe a public board violates these Terms or infringes your rights, you may report it using the Report feature. We reserve the right to remove any content or restrict any account that violates these Terms.

8. Subscriptions and Payments

Aurora offers free and paid subscription plans. Paid plans are billed through our third-party payment processor. Subscription terms, pricing, and cancellation policies will be presented at the time of purchase. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.

8a. Pricing Changes for Existing Subscribers

Aurora reserves the right to modify pricing for existing subscribers at any time. We will provide affected subscribers with at least 30 days' written notice by email before any price change takes effect. Price changes will take effect at the start of the next billing cycle following the conclusion of the notice period. Continued use of the paid Service on or after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new pricing. Subscribers who do not agree to the new pricing may cancel their subscription at any time before the change takes effect, and the cancellation will prevent the new pricing from being charged.

8b. Referral Program

Aurora may offer a referral program that allows users to earn rewards for referring new subscribers. Aurora reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the referral program at any time, with at least 30 days' notice provided to active participants. Aurora further reserves the right to disqualify any participant found to be engaging in fraudulent, abusive, or manipulative activity — including but not limited to self-referrals, fake accounts, disposable email addresses, or any attempt to circumvent program rules — and to revoke any rewards earned through such activity. Referral rewards have no cash value, are non-transferable, and cannot be exchanged for cash or credit outside the program's stated terms. Aurora's decisions regarding referral eligibility, qualifying events, reward issuance, and program enforcement are final.

9. Intellectual Property

The Aurora name, logo, design, and software are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Aurora platform without our written permission.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time through Settings.

11. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

Aurora is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of Aurora after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Advertising

Aurora is supported by advertising on some subscription plans. Free plan users may see advertisements within the Service. Basic plan users may see a limited number of advertisements. Pro and Coach plans are provided ad-free. The frequency, placement, and format of advertisements are subject to change.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles.
